3D Printers Go Mainstream

The prices and availability of 3D printers have come very close to the realm of real people.  Now available at Staples, (See link below) they can be had at less than seven hundred dollars.  Now that isn’t quite everyman level, but Blue Ray players were near that price not so long ago — now refurbished models are forty bucks or so.

There is also the cost of a (3D) scanner and appropriate materials which can easily double the investment.  And the prices bottom out seven hundred US and go up from there — but top out at three thousand US.  Not exactly future tech anymore.  So if you need to replicate your plastic toy, build a fiberglass project or a tiny alien spaceship — check out Staples..
